I’ve been wanting to get a new Chanel Boy Bag for a while now, and can’t seem to settle on the exact version I want. Chanel reintroduces this bag every season in new materials and renditions to match with the theme of the runway show while continuing to keep the classics. While I keep feeling like I should just get the new medium in classic black (there is an old medium and a new, the new is a bit bigger), I saw the two new pink options at the store and found myself leaning toward Chanel pink.

Truth is, I don’t need a pale pink bag. It stains easily and can’t be worn with jeans (which I wear all the time). But the heart wants what it wants and I continuously find myself leaning toward pretty pink pastels to add to my collection. Shown above is a size small in pink and medium in light pink, both are beautiful but the medium size is the one I want.

I love Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palettes as they give two medium tones to color with a darker hue to intensify and light shade to highlight. There are 14 color combinations, but these four colors get my pick right now and work well with my skin tone. If you’re interested, there is definitely an option that will work for you as well!

One of the pink Chanel Boy Bags along with a matching eyeshadow compact truly makes a perfect pair that I’ll be thinking about for a while. Buy the small pink bag for $4,300 and the medium light pink for $5,200 at a Chanel boutique. You can buy the eyeshadow online via for $61.

Ciao Roma! Chanel Metiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

Paris is where the fashion is, and where the fashion is there is always Chanel. This is the truth of the world it seems and Coco made it known from the days she fought against the status quo. Even in Rome, Chanel is all about Paris. Karl Lagerfeld does the fashion house much justice. Tuesday night’s Chanel Metiers d’Art pre-fall 2016 showwas rather incredible, as the Chanel shows generally are, but there was something more to be seen this time, almost sending off fireworks into the air.

The fashion show stabbed at our hearts with that tender moment shown for the French capital that is still very much shrouded in grief for the innocents that were lost in the horrific attacks. Attacks that have been rocking many cities of late and taking too many lives. “I didn’t know when we started the idea of Paris in Rome that it would be the best moment to show a perfect, romantic Paris when Paris today in reality is the opposite of a romantic city,” Lagerfeld said during a preview of his latest Métiers d’Art collection. “It’s really unbelievable, no?”

This was a show like no other, featuring an 11-minute movie starring Kristen Stuart, while there were elements of “Gangs of New York” and the “Rome” series seen on HBO. The show itself seemed to tell the story of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, linking the beauty to the movie business and to the Eternal City itself. The designer’s life and some interesting details from her days in Italy were presented, from strolls to friendships to works in progress; the show included pieces that we would love, including an acrylic shoulder bag shaped like a vintage movie camera, mules with a snake entwined around a pearl on the heel, and lots of lingerie detailing with lace and fingerless gloves so aptly dubbed by Lagerfeld as arm stockings.

Ladies walked onto stage wearing tweed jackets with caped shoulders, a look that is both Paris and Rome combined. There was a slight Italian accent to the long tweed vest and pants combo, something akin to palazzo pajamas, while things were kept light and young and very flirtatious, showing a Coco that everyone can love.

The Chanel pre-fall collection in Rome finished off with lace dresses and purple ostrich feather additions, delicate negligee looks and sophisticated designs that were all French couture. Gamines in schoolgirl tweed appeared within the line-up, along with bourgeois looks complete with white collars and cuffs. There is knitwear to be found, along with pleated skirts, geometric crewnecks and jeweled capelets.

The Chanel Metiers d’Art collection was introduced by Lagerfeld in 2002, made to show off the couture Chanel creates, igniting the pre-collection frenzy and very much becoming the brand’s most celebrated of lines. Paris meets Rome and vice versa here and we cannot help but fall in love over and over again. Somehow, the shows Lagerfeld puts on have some sort of prophetic effect, this one reminding us of the terror attacks and the spring show in Paris done during the Fashion Weeks in October with the airport setting unwittingly alluding to the Air France strike that would take place where the clothing would be ripped off the airline’s chief executive officer. Pretty cool in our books!

Chanel Iridescent Boy Bag Kylie Jenner

Before I even kick this off, I want to start by saying I know many of you don’t like the Kardashian-Jenner clan. It’s not that I personally love them, but I don’t hate them either, and the ladies have some amazing handbags; for our purposes, that means they’re a natural fit for PurseBlog.

I’ve been drawn to the Chanel Boy Bag since its release in 2011, and I’ve found plenty of Boy renditions that I would have loved to add to my closet. When I saw the Chanel Iridescent Boy Bag, I knew it would be loved by many, myself included.

Featuring a tinge of iridescence on the goatskin leather and color-shifting hardware on the clasp and chain handles, this bag’s an immediate eye-catcher. Kylie Jenner, who has an amazing handbag collection, bought this bag for herself recently and shared it on Instagram, saying, “I never thought I was the Boy Bag type girl. But I just couldn’t resist this one”. I feel you, Kylie’ I really do. A similar version can be yours for$4,300 via Chanel, andremember you can shop Chanel beauty and sunglasses now, too!.

Chanel Tweed Sunglasses

chanel_ss15-tweed-sunglasses1This might seem like a case of #randommuch, but with sunglasses becoming the 3rd most important component towards completing an outfit after deciding on your stunning sling and killer heels, I figured these soon-to-be-released ones from Chanel were worth a quick mention. A signature emblem of the French luxury house, you’ll find renderings of tweed patterns on the oversized butterfly styles whilst channelling your inner Bardot or Onassis.

chanel_ss15-tweed-sunglasses2Available in a plethora of colours (I find the ones in black/white and black/white with a tinge of red especially alluring), you’ll be able to try them out (and buy a pair or 3) come 1 May when they are launched in Singapore at Chanel boutiques island-wide. And by island-wide I mean their respective stores at either Marina Bay Sands or Ngee Ann City.
